At Third Coast, we vet CBD brands out for you by researching, obtaining lab tests, and trying each brand ourselves before ever offering it here on our site. There have been hundreds of various CBD brands and other product types that have flooded the market over the last few years. This has caused a lot of consumer confusion over which brands they should trust because they can't ALL be "THE BEST". They can't all come from "THE BEST SOURCE"... etc. We're sure you have read these same claims on most CBD products you read about or research.
The reality is if their product is sourced from the United States, it's likely coming from a small handful of sources as there isn't really a ton of hemp being grown in the ground today (about 27k acres). And just because hemp is being grown, doesn't mean that it is going to wind up in a CBD product. Hemp can be used for thousands, even countless numbers of other things, therefore, that means most of the CBD products being made today are coming from roughly the same sources. Unless a brand is growing its own hemp, it's likely their source is coming from about the same handful of sources as all of the others.
We're telling you this in an effort to pull back the curtain and offer more transparency to CBD oil brands, but also making sure to teach you that since CBD oil products are coming mostly from the same source, what companies and brands are doing to that product once they receive it and put it through their manufacturing process is what is causing one of two things to happen.
Either a great product is being made which is full of natural, organic, overall quality ingredients that will pass a third-party lab test. Or a crappy quality product is made by a brand that chooses to cut corners, use cheap ingredients, have bad manufacturing practices, or other.
That's why we're here, to test these brands out to make sure whatever they've done with the CBD oil they've grown or purchased, is still healthy for you to consume.
