In our quest to find the tastiest most nutritious ways to fill in the diet where needed… we’re introducing heavy weight contender, Carnivore Crisps.
You have likely seen them promoted online by Mark Bell on the power project podcast…. a simple snack with two ingredients. Meat and Salt….sounds like any other jerky, right?
Wrong.
We challenge you to flip over your favorite jerky and read the ingredients. We won’t be surprised if you can’t pronounce a few of them. That’s separate and apart from the nutritional contents. Protein and the expense of huge sodium and added sugars.

So after clicking through their Instagram ad – we decided on the Mark Bell Box Variety Pack. Including five varieties of their best sellers. They came in just a week or two after ordering and I was well aware of the tracking, shipping and status on the order. The service/technology team did a great job. Included in the Mark Bell box are:
Starting in the shallow end, I opened the ribeye. Upon opening, I didn’t notice a wild aroma, good or bad. Extracting the first piece I was surprised that they were crisp. Not sure why the name Carnivore Crisp didn’t cement that in my brain. Imagine the crispiest bacon you’ve had. It wasn’t brittle, but upon the first bite, it crumbles nicely and gives you a salty meaty crunch. These things are good! Not quite as heavy as the flock chicken chips, This snack is dangerous!
Found ourselves halfway done with the bag in no time.
A touch greasy on the hands, but well worth it!
Next up we went deep end and tried the beef heart.
Well it definitely looks different than the more familiar ribeye, darker with yellowish fat.
After a few chews, the flavor was nice. Maybe the placeabo effect was kicking in, but I was feeling more powerful! I was channeling my inner Liver King, Paul Salandino and Jordan Peterson with a pretty easy introduction to organ meat.
After an initial swallow, the mouthfeel of this was not pleasant to me. The fat coated my mouth with an unpleasant texture and seemed to resist rinsing away with a swig from my giant Onnit water bottle. Perhaps this is just a me thing…
This snack travels well, doesn’t need to be refrigerated and satisfies a salty crunch while maintaining a strict carnivore diet.
Excited to try the chicken variety that came in the pack as well.
